Cemetery tour

Five mapped stops introduce the compact grounds, their history and useful points of orientation.

On this page

The tour conceptually begins at either entrance shown in the municipal PDF. It links five precisely mapped points, but it is neither a signposted walk nor a measured route.

Before you start

Save the municipal PDF from the cemetery map page and check the opening hours. The Bogenhauser Kirchplatz entrance is near St Georg; the plan also shows a southern entrance from Neuberghauser Straße.

There is insufficient information about distance, gradients or step-free continuity. Keep to the existing paths and give funerals priority.

The five stops

1. St Georg church

The church is the historic and physical centre of the cemetery. The burial ground developed around it from the early Middle Ages. Using the church for a funeral requires arrangements with both Heilig Blut parish and the cemetery administration.

2. Soldner memorial slab

A slab at the church commemorates Johann Georg von Soldner, an astronomer who directed Bavaria’s first state survey. It is also the only grave in the curated people directory with a precise map position.

3. Urn wall 1

The first mapped urn wall makes one of the cemetery’s urn-burial forms visible on site. The municipal plan places the urn walls in the northern part of the grounds.

4. Urn wall 2

The second urn wall lies close to the previous stop. Separate markers represent two distinct mapped areas and make orientation easier in the compact northern section.

5. Water point

The tour ends at the northern water point. It serves grave care and is not designated as drinking water. A second water point lies west of St Georg and remains available on the full cemetery map.

Return and further searches

Use the existing paths for your return and the PDF to select your exit. These five stops do not help locate every grave. For that, you need a specific reference or assistance from the cemetery administration.
